Gain Valuable Experience On Call
Upto the first 2 years will be general medical on call.
If dual accreditation then GIM/cardiology for duration of training.
Cardiology On Call - Acute MI, TPW, referrals, ECHO and trouble shooting wards and clinic patients - there are always cardiology consultants on call that are easily contactable should the need arise.
The on-calls could be 12 hour resident within hospital or 24 on call period split between 12 hours resident and 12 hours off residence but within 20 minutes from the hospital.
